This DVD was commissioned by the Mid North Coast Division of General Practice as part of the National Indigenous quit smoking program.
In this colourful and informative documentary, presenter Alec Doomadgee meets with smokers, ex-smokers and health professionals to talk about how to quit smoking cigarettes. Along the way, Alec finds out some of the support, methods and medications available to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 'blow away the smokes'.
The overall purpose of the No smokes North Coast, blow away the smokes project is to minimise the harmful impact of tobacco smoking on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people on the Mid and North Coast of NSW. The project aims to:
