Description

These brochures have been developed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parents who have recently had a baby. The brochures explain the different emotions new parents experience, and suggest a number of ways for managing feelings of stress and sadness. Information is also included on who to contact for further help. One of the brochures has been produced for new mums and other brochure is for new dads.

When to use this resource

These two brochures have been developed for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander mums and dads who have recently had a baby and may be feeling sad or stressed. Health practitioners, including nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, and mental health workers could offer the brochures to new parents to help them manage feelings of stress or sadness.
