This booklet provides information on iron rich foods which are important for the healthy development of babies and growing children. Topics covered in the booklet include breast milk, meat for baby and foods for iron. In addition, foods which do not contain iron or which stop the body from absorbing iron are listed. The booklet uses clear colourful illustrations and concise wording to carry its message.

This resource is part of the Growing strong: feeding you and your baby set of resources developed by Queensland Health to help health staff talk with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families about nutrition for mothers, babies and young children. It helps to explain that babies and children need iron for strong healthy blood and energy.
