This DVD is of a program which looks at the issue of social isolation. It focuses on the development of services to reduce isolation and the support for families and children at risk of abuse or neglect. The program shows that strong communities and support networks are vital for helping families to function well and provide a safe and healthy environment for their children. Three case studies are featured, including:
The program is not Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders specific, but showcases an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in WA.

This program would be of interest to general practitioners (GPs), nurses, allied health professionals, Aboriginal Health Workers, youth officers, and community workers. The information provided in the program could be used for the development of appropriate programs and services in remote communities. The DVD could also be made available for communities, families or individuals to view to help them understand the issues relating to social isolation.
