The Larrakia calendar is an online interactive resource that details Indigenous environmental knowledge of the Darwin area in the Northern Territory (NT). The calender is written in the local Gulumoerrgin (Larrakia) language and details the seven seasons; including information on the foods, plants, animals and climate for each season.
This resource is aimed at students, teachers and the broader community and also provides a glossary of the terms in English, as well as a 'teacher activity' page to enable continued education.
The calender was developed by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in partnership with the Larrakia Traditional Owners.
