Aboriginal wellness: growing strong, staying strong [workbooks] (2011)

Description

This series of three booklets on strengths, worries, and making change have been developed specifically for Aboriginal people. The booklets are designed to encourage people to:

• explore what activities help to keep them strong and healthy
• identify worries and how to keep strong when they have worries
• develop positive plans for the future.

The booklets include culturally appropriate artwork and language, making it relevant to Aboriginal people. The booklets can be completed with the help of a friend, family member, or support worker. The booklets can also be completed when taking part in a Ruah workshop.

When to use this resource

Mental health practitioners could use these booklets when working with Aboriginal clients. Depending on the needs of the client, practitioners can either work through the booklets with their client, encourage their client to complete the booklets on their own, or with the help of a family member or friend.
