Stopping violence against women before it happens: a practical toolkit for communities was developed by the National Rural Women's Coalition to assist rural communities to take action on violence against women. It aims to meet the specific needs of rural and regional communities by providing straightforward advice, practical resources and ideas for community-led action. The toolkit contains 15 fact sheets with information on:

• understanding violence against women
• primary prevention methods and techniques
• step-by-step guide to taking action.
