Description

This video clip was produced by the South West Women's Health and Information Centre (SWWHIC). SWWHIC received a grant from the Alcohol Education and Rehabilitation Foundation (AERF) in 2009 to produce a video advertisement on Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). The advertisement is intended as an educational resource for the public, to highlight the risk of drinking alcohol during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

A focus group contributed to the advertisement's message, which aimed to be positive and empowering for pregnant and breastfeeding women and was conveyed as: 'If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, there is no known safe level of alcohol consumption'. The advertisement features local talent from different cultures including a Noongar Elder, and was filmed in Bunbury, Western Australia.
