Description

This two page fact sheet on healing has been developed for all people who work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The fact sheet provides definitions for a range of healing terms in relation to social and emotional wellbeing, such as identity and reconciliation. The fact sheet also describes situations from which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people require healing.

This fact sheet would be appropriate for both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as well as other Australians who work in health, particularly in the area of social and emotional wellbeing. The fact sheet will help workers to understand the meaning of healing in the Aboriginal and Torres Islander culture, which may allow them to work with more sensitivity and effectiveness.
