Dementia: carers and families - learning guide (2007)

Description

The Dementia series is a series of educational television broadcasts (also available on DVD) produced to inform health care professionals across all settings on how to deliver quality care and support to people living with dementia, their carers, and families. The Dementia: carers and families - learning guide includes seven activities designed to facilitate group discussion on the key issues raised in the DVD. Activities have been created on the following topics:

• dementia, carers, and families
• general practitioners and carer's involvement in care planning
• discussing issues with families and carers
• case study 1: Geoff and Maria, where are they now?
• an Indigenous model of dementia care
• caring for the carer
• review.

The activities provide the opportunity to relate information to real life situations and to use the content to build skills in reflective practice.
