Booklet
An initiative of the Cancer Council Queensland, this booklet was developed to enhance understanding among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people about the utility of morphine as a source of pain relief for cancer treatment patients. The booklet has been written in Creole and provides answers to the many common questions that arise when someone is prescribed morphine. Specifically the booklet provides information on: what is morphine; where does it come from; what is it used for; and possible side effects. In addition the booklet provides information that seeks to dispel the myths about morphine. The booklet contains Indigenous artwork on every page and was a collaborative effort with the Cancer Council Queensland, Indigenous health workers, Elders, and Torres Strait Islanders all contributing to the production of the book.
