The manual is divided into 6 parts with overheads, handouts and a list of resources for further information. It is clearly set out with easy to understand instructions and suggestions on how to use the manual. As there is a range in the knowledge of the professionals and workers who will benefit from the training, the manual has been designed so that it can be adapted by the presenter to suit different learning needs.

The Know your heart resource was created to assist Aboriginal Health Workers with the training, health education, and health promotion of other Aboriginal Health Workers and the communities they work with. It provides current information on cardiovascular disease and sets out teaching strategies that can be used by health workers. It is also a helpful resource for other health professionals involved in cardiovascular disease, health promotion, and education to Indigenous communities.
