Journal article
This journal article on treatment guidelines for panic disorder and agoraphobia has been developed for mental health professionals. It provides a brief two-page summary of the different treatment options for panic disorder and agoraphobia. The guidelines were developed in line with the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) criteria. These guidelines are not Indigenous specific guidelines but they will be relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with panic disorder or agoraphobia.
Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet abstract
Mental health professionals should use this information as a guide when treating adults with panic disorder or agoraphobia. Practitioners should use this as a guide only because the choice of treatment for someone with panic disorder or agoraphobia will depend on the skill of the practitioner, and the patient's preferences and personal situation.
