The Snuff out sniffing (SOS) campaign is an anti-petrol sniffing grassroots initiative devised and implemented by parents local to the Cherbourg area in Queensland. Services provided include a parent support group, a safe place for young people where they can chill-out without the risk or temptation of drugs, a primary school education campaign, and a night foot patrol of parents. Elders, council, community leaders, government, parents and other groups have collaborated on this program and are coordinated by Bruce Simpson of the South Burnett Community Training Centre Diversionary Program.
