Overview

The Prisoner employment program (PEP) is run through the Western Australia Department of Corrective Services' Education and Vocational Training Unit. This program provides prisoners with the opportunity to engage in meaningful and sustainable paid employment, work experience, vocational training and education in the community.

PEP allows organisations to hire employees who are trained and skilled in their relevant field of work. The Department has employment coordinators who assist organisations and provide employers with appropriate advice.
