Your Life, Your Culture, You Choose

Your Life, Your Culture, You Choose is the second phase of the Australian Government's National Binge Drinking Strategy. The primary target audience is Indigenous people aged 15-24 years; the secondary target audience is parents, extended family and community members of Indigenous communities; and the tertiary target audience is key opinion leaders, community leaders, peak Indigenous health groups, and Indigenous and mainstream health service providers.

This second phase of the campaign ran from 21 November 2008 until 30 June 2010 and focused on positive choices and the alternatives to drinking alcohol that are available to Indigenous youth.

National Binge Drinking Campaign

The resources in this package were developed to promote positive messages and images about strong culture, families and healthy choices in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. These fact sheets and scenes show some of the alternative activities and lifestyles that people can engage in, rather than be caught up in the binge drinking cycle. They highlight the support that is available to help people avoid an unhealthy drinking culture.

This collection of resources contains two fact sheets and four scenarios. All six resources are in a simple poster format. The resources are no longer available in hard copy but can be downloaded from the website.
