Holding our tongues is part of the Hindsight program on Australian radio devoted exclusively to social history. This specific project project is about the long and painful task of reviving Aboriginal languages. Language is a precious link from you to your history and to your future. Aboriginal languages are so closely connected to places, to land formations, to kinship relations, to animals, plants and creation, that to lose an Aboriginal language is to lose a specific and unique way of relating to the land. Transcripts and audio resources are available from the website.
