Clean teeth, wicked smiles



The Clean teeth wicked smiles school toothbrushing program aims to improve the oral health of Indigenous children by educating them about the benefits of regular oral care and by increasing access to toothbrushes and fluoride toothpaste. It emphasises good toothbrushing techniques to children through school presentations.

This program is funded by the Centre for Oral Health Strategy NSW and is part the Maari Ma Health Aboriginal Corporation.

Maari Ma Health Aboriginal Corporation

This resource package was developed by the Maari Ma Health Aboriginal Corporation and is used in conjunction with the Clean teeth, wicked smiles school toothbrushing program. The resource package includes a poster and an activity booklet. The poster is left with each class participating in the program to be displayed in the area where children brush their teeth to remind them of correct toothbrushing technique, which is demonstrated during by the oral health team during the program. The activity booklet is part of a set of 4 booklets and is used during the oral health education module which can be run over one school term each year. The other booklets include 'Fruits and veggies', 'Hunting for health' and 'Physical activity'.
