The Fruit + Veg Program was piloted in over 50 Victorian schools from 2003 - 2004, and aimed to increase the health of school aged children by improving nutrition.
It involved over 20,000 Victorian children, their families and school communities in learning about and enjoying the eating and preparing of fruit and vegetables. The curriculum-based program for primary school aged children used a range of teaching materials which aimed to increase the consumption of fruit and vegetables.
First produced by the Health Department of Western Australia, the program was modified and implemented in Victoria.
