The KISS (Keep It Safe Summer) school leavers' program is an initiative of the WA AIDS Council (WAAC) and is aimed at young people, particularly those of school leaving age engaging in end of school year celebrations. It was developed out of concern for the increased risk of sexually transmissible infections (including HIV) among young people when alcohol and other drugs are consumed.
KISS seeks to educate young people on sexual health issues and drugs thus encouraging healthy behaviour choices. Essentially KISS aims to minimise the harms associated with unsafe behaviour (sexual and drug use behaviour). The progam has been implemented in Perth, Dunsborough, and on Rottnest Island.
