Incredible edible Broome

Overview

The Incredible edible Broome program, an independent community initiative, aims to bring together local knowledge and excess produce from local vegetable gardens to provide the community of Broome, Western Australia (WA), with fresh, nutritious food.

On the first Saturday of every month, people come together with their excess produce, seedlings, cuttings, seeds and homemade preserves and trade for goods with other participants.

Initiatives of the Incredible edible Broome include:

The program also runs workshops and community events, which include topics such as food safety, recipes, composting and gardening.

The program is based on the Incredible edible concept from a community group based in England, a local food partnership that encourages community engagement through local growing.
