Drug and alcohol withdrawal network (DAWN)

Overview

The Drug and alcohol withdrawal network (DAWN) is a free and confidential service for people who want to reduce or cease alcohol and other drug (AOD) use in their home environment.

The DAWN team is made up of nine Clinical Nurse Specialists who provide a home based treatment program from AOD withdrawal. Referrals to the service can be from self, other counselling services, mental health services or from GP's.

Each client is individually assessed and the DAWN staff work closely together with and alongside GP's, counsellors, allied and mental health personnel to ensure the correct treatment pathway is followed and achieved.
