Drug and alcohol withdrawal network (DAWN)

Overview

The Drug and alcohol withdrawal network (DAWN) is a free, home-based withdrawal service that operates from a number of locations across the Perth metropolitan area in Western Australia.

Staffed by registered nurses who provide daily home visits, DAWN works with GPs in the community to assist safe withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs in a home environment.

Education and support is provided to GPs, family members and clients; and after withdrawal, clients are referred to counselling, rehabilitation and any other appropriate services for further care.
