Community outreach program

Overview

The Council for Aboriginal Alcohol Program Services (CAAPS) Community outreach program aims to reach some of the most vulnerable community members of the Darwin and Palmerston areas, including individuals and families residing in town communities and camps who may not otherwise actively seek out engagement with service providers. The Community Outreach Team provides information on CAAPS services, conducts assessments for entry into the 12 week rehabilitation program and will provide referrals to other services if required.

Homeless clients who are currently participating in the residential program are supported to access accommodation when they have completed the program. Participants who are already accommodated under public housing are assisted to sustain their current tenancies.
