Melbourne Aboriginal cancer support group

Overview

Cancer Council Victoria has initiated a new support program for Aboriginal people affected by cancer. The Melbourne Aboriginal cancer support group operates out of Gurwidj House in Thornbury, Victoria.

The group is aimed at supporting Aboriginal families affected by cancer and offers a unique space for Aboriginal people to reflect on their experiences in a culturally safe environment. Group members can meet to share stories, and support one another through their cancer journeys.
