Gundi employment project

Overview

The Gundi employment project aims to help Indigenous ex-offenders gain valuable vocational skills and experience in the building and construction industry sector. Prior to release, Gundi participants build transportable homes which are supplied to remote Aboriginal communities through the New South Wales Aboriginal Housing Office.

The project was designed by Corrective Services, New South Wales and funded through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations' Indigenous Employment Program. The employment services organisation, A4e Australia, is responsible for delivery of the Gundi employment program at St Heliers Correctional Centre in regional New South Wales.
