Overview

The Aboriginal children experiencing family violence counselling program is delivered by the counselling team at the Yorgum Aboriginal Family Counselling Service in Perth.

The focus of this program is on meeting the counselling and support needs of Indigenous children and their families who are victims of family abuse.

Clients of the program are initially offered individual and family group counselling sessions, with an end goal of incorporating peer group sessions to provide children with support from others that have experienced similar trauma.

Yorgum staff are able to refer clients to specialist support agencies as required on an individual basis.
