Tiwi pakajura primary prevention program

Overview

The Tiwi pakajura primary prevention program was a placebo controlled trial seeking to determine whether medical treatment can delay or prevent the onset of hypertension, kidney disease and diabetes in Aboriginal adults.

Participants also gained benefit from having their health status re-examined during the course of the program.

An evaluation of the program outcomes is currently being undertaken, and the results are expected in late 2014.
