The Family support service (FSS), run by Centrecare, is a confidential outreach counselling and support service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families at risk of having their children removed from their care.
The FSS involves a Community Caseworker working with participants to help keep their children safe at home. The Caseworker helps participants to access necessary community and government services, and to meet identified needs and issues. Participants will be assisted to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence to deal with crises as they occur.
