Overview

Life at the core is an initiative that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of the residents of the city of Rockingham and the town of Kwinana, Western Australia, by providing a range of free nutrition and physical activity programs.

Life at the core is being offered to:

• unemployed people
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
• retirees and pensioners
• people with a disability.

The exercise programs on offer through Life at the core:

• Living longer, living stronger
  
• Heart Foundation's Heartmoves
• Heart Foundation walking
• HEAL - Healthy eating, activity and lifestyle program
• outdoor gym
• Gym time
• Connect program
• Dancing for our mob.

The nutrition sessions on offer through Life at the core:

• My healthy balance
• Cook smart
• Shop smart
• Getting wise of portion size
• quit smoking classes.
  

Transport and childcare can be arranged for participants in any of the programs.

This program has been funded by the Australian Government under the Healthy communities initiative.
