This project was funded by the Department of Health and Ageing through the Building healthy communities in remote areas initiative. Its aims were to increase levels of physical activity and community recreation using the community swimming pool.
Key to the project's success was the employment of a local project officer, engagement through the creation of a community recreation committee, and support systems provided by national and local branch project managers.

The Nauiyu aquatic recreation project was completed in June 2009. Royal Life Saving was pleased to work alongside the Nauiyu Community and looks forward to this continuing partnership.
