Barkly Regional Council Animal Health Program

 

Overview

The Barkly Regional Council Animal Health Program aims to improve animal health in remote communities through the establishment of veterinarian (vet) services. The program aims to improve the health of local animals by:

The program has proved to be successful, being responsible for the establishment of the Tennant Creek Veterinary Practice, regular casual employment of the local veterinarian and additional support staff for community programs and a strong partnership with Animal'Management in Rural and Remote Aboriginal Communities (AMRRIC) and Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation.
