Overview

Gumala Aboriginal Corporation (GAC) provides a range of services for local communities in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. These include:

• Community maintenance
  • servicing and maintenance of community vehicles and machinery and maintenance work around each community; Community clean-ups (busy bees) and firebreak works are also occasionally organised insome communities
• Gumala Radio
  • one of the leading FM community radio stations in the Pilbara
• Gumala bus service
  • regular services operate between Tom Price, Wakathuni, Bellary and Paraburdoo
• Community support services
  • these are supplied to the remote communities of Wakathuni, Bellary Springs, Youngaleena, Wirrilimarra, and Peedamulla.

GAC also successfully implemented a Recycling project in 2009-2010, where recycling trailers were delivered to four communities as part of an aim to provide more waste disposal facilities.
