Moorditj nop

 

Overview

The City of Stirling runs a youth services program in Western Australia for young Indigenous men called Moorditj nop (meaning 'great boys'). This program was started in October 2007, when it was known as the Marman biridiyia program. The program works in partnership with the Department of Education and Training and local Stirling high schools such as Churchlands, Carine, Balcatta, and Mirrabooka, to offer local Indigenous youth a leadership program. The program aims to:

These aims are achieved through different activities held in each school term. Activities include traditional dance, arts, and music, and career and industry training.
