Central Desert night patrol

 

Overview

The Central Desert Shire runs a night patrol service in the Northern Territory (NT). The core functions of the night patrol are to provide basic services such as:

Night patrol teams are supplied with vehicles, radios, and uniforms, and receive appropriate training in four-wheel driving, occupational health and safety, numeracy and literacy, and team leadership. During 2008-09, there were 13 night patrol services operational in 11 locations in the NT:
