Description

Gindaja Treatment and Healing Centre offers a holistic approach to the treatment and recovery of Aboriginal people with substance use problems. Programs are available to individuals who choose to stay at Gindaja (residents) during the course of their treatment and others who attend during the day. A set fee is charged for those who choose to stay in the facilities.

The following services are incorporated into the Gindaja treatment and healing program:

• medical supervision of detoxification
• rest and cultural activities
• individual and group counselling
• support and advice on life after rehabilitation
• home care follow-ups
• self help groups
• educational programs
• advocacy
• community outreach

The treatment program incorporates a bi-cultural healing program based on individual treatment and ongoing support and care.

Admissions are accepted by referrals from individuals, family members, Queensland Indigenous alcohol diversion program, magistrate's court, local community court and health organisations.

Gindaja Rehabilitation Centre is located in Yarrabah, Queensland.
