Shire of Derby/West Kimberley

 

Description

The shire of Derby/West Kimberley covers an area of 118,560 square kilometres and includes the main towns of Derby and Fitzroy Crossing and numerous Aboriginal communities. A number of services are provided by the shire for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people, for example; public safety, law and order, recreation and culture, and health. The shire also provides environmental health services to Aboriginal communities within their governing region with the employment of two Aboriginal field support officers.
