Description

The Australian Local Government Association is a national body representing more than 609 local councils across Australia. Its members include State and Territory local government associations. The key activities for ALGA include:

• representing local governments on national bodies and ministerial councils, for example the Council of Australian Governments (COAG)
• submissions to inquiries, both government and parliamentary
• enhancing the profile of its members
• providing forums for its members to enable them to develop national local government policies
