The EHAA provides an opportunity for the exchange of information on a range of public health and environmental issues. Ten interest groups are recognised by the association including:

• built environment
• professional management
• food safety
• emergency management
• waste management
• climate change
• Indigenous health
• safety and health
• public health
• sustainability

Members have access to mentoring programs, training and information workshops. The Indigenous health interest group focuses on creating and maintaining environments that advance the public health of Indigenous communities while acknowledging the cultural needs of the people.
