Description

The Central Australian Aboriginal Alcohol Programmes Unit (CAAAPU) is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1991 to assist Aboriginal people with alcohol and drug rehabilitation, and to provide ongoing treatment and education.
CAAAPU provides counselling and treatment services at their residential facility in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, with an eight week rehabilitation program to assist victims of acute alcohol abuse problems.

CAAAPU's aim is to reduce the harmful effects of alcohol and other drugs on individuals, families and communities and provide a place of healing, enabling clients to live a healthy and sober life and fulfill their potential. CAAAPU deliver their treatment programs through culturally appropriate ways and means for clients and residents, and include:

• Treatment program
• Outreach program
• Women's residential facility
• Safe healing program.
