The Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre (AILC) is a non-profit organisation; an Australian registered company limited by guarantee. It was established in December 1999 under the auspices of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS). The AILC aims to foster the development of leadership ability and skills of Indigenous peoples; conduct educational and experiential courses and seminars in leadership and professional development; develop materials for education and training in leadership; promote indigenous leadership skills and ability; and create forums for Indigenous people to share ideas, experience and skills.
