The Australian Association of Gerontology undertakes research on ageing, networking, education, and policy development. The inaugural meeting forming an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ageing Committee was convened at the Australian Association of Gerontology Annual National Conference in Melbourne in November 2004. The Committee is open to anyone interested in Indigenous ageing including service providers, policy makers, researchers, and consumers.
