Family Planning Western Australia (FPWA)

Description

FPWA (formerly Family Planning WA) has provided sexual health services, information and training in Western Australia for over 30 years. FPWA is committed to excellence in sexual health care, affirming that all people are sexual throughout life, have a right to information and choice, and that acceptance of sexuality is integral to health.

Within FPWA is the Sexual Health Network - a network that has a particular focus on Indigenous sexual health issues and is designed to support those working in sexual health including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, health promotion officers, youth workers, drug and alcohol workers, and more. Members of the network are kept up-to-date on sexual health issues via the distribution of information through email, the post, and teleconferencing. The network also offers support to workers and seeks to reduce professional isolation by providing a forum whereby members can share experiences, challenges, successes, and resources.
