Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)

 

Description

The functions of the ABS include the collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination of statistics, the coordination of the statistical operations of official bodies, the development of standards for statistics (and ensuring these standards are met), the offering of advice and assistance on the production and use of statistics and liaison with international organisations on statistical issues. The ABS assists and encourages informed decision making, research and discussion within governments and the community on themes relevant to all regions of Australia including industry, people, economy, environment and energy.
