The Department of Health's mission as the principal health authority in Western Australia (WA) is to promote, protect, maintain and restore the health of the people of Western Australia. The Department's aim is to manage a comprehensive range of health and health-related services to all West Australians, including health promotion, health protection, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, continuing care, support and palliative care. These services are provided through a range of people and organisations. The Department of Health is working to ensure that all the components of this diverse system work together to deliver the best possible health care to all West Australians when and where they need it.
