Dental Health Education Unit, Department of Health WA

Description

The Dental Health Education Unit (DHEU) is WA's statewide dental information and health promotion service. It produces an extensive range of health promotion resources, some of which are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-specific. It also produces lesson plans, conducts train-the-trainer workshops, lends teaching props to dental educators, and annually updates a catalogue of dental health education resources.

The DHEU produced an Aboriginal dental health education resource called The tooth book in 2009. The 16-page book, which is available for purchase from the DHEU, is a colourful and durable resource suitable for small group presentations or as a chairside instructor. It is currently being updated.
