The Woolcock Institute for Medical research is an independent research institute accredited by the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia, and is a partner in the Commonwealth government's cooperative research centre program for asthma. The Woolcock Institute functions as a network for interested researchers and serves as a resource through which their research efforts are coordinated and facilitated. The research is clinically focused on the relationship of basic pathological, public health and commercial fields and respiratory disease.
