Cancer Council Queensland
Description
The Cancer Council Queensland raises funds with the view of eliminating cancer and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, treatment, patient care, prevention, and early detection. The Council provides a range of services including:
- support services
- Cancer Council helpline; cancer counselling service; support programs (e.g., information workshops and seminars); Cancer Connect (peer support service); breast cancer support service; brain tumour support service; treatment support; childhood, adolescent, and young adult support service; educational support for health professionals, teachers, schools, and the community; and awareness raising events;
- informational resources for a range of cancer topics;
- early detection programs and initiatives; and
- research activities/initiatives.
