Colony 47
Description
Colony 47 provides services to vulnerable people in the Tasmanian community who are in need of assistance. Their programs include:
- housing assistance for people who are homeless or whose housing is unstable
- tenants needing financial assistance
- accommodation for young women who are homeless or escaping family violence
- supported employment opportunities for people with mental illness or people who have physical or intellectual disabilities
- services for young children and families who live in disadvantaged communities
- counselling services for young people and their families
- services for the Aboriginal community (health and employment services)
- training opportunities for apprentices and trainees
- help for people who are in prison or are exiting the prison service
- Aboriginal community links information and referral service.
Colony 47 delivers innovative, client-focused services in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The service aims to help people overcome their immediate crisis and find long-term solutions to their problems.
