Description

Primary Care Connect (formerly known as the Goulburn Valley Community Health Service) employs Indigenous staff to help provide a range of health services and programs to the Koori people and community.

A Koori alcohol and other drug worker is employed to provide drug assessment and treatment for Indigenous people, particularly those whose drug taking behaviour is a key factor in their criminality. An Aboriginal health promotion and chronic disease management worker is employed to link clients with health and chronic diseases with services within the community, and an Indigenous family violence counsellor is employed to work with Indigenous clients who are a victim of all forms of family violence.
