Description

The Illawarra Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS) provides primary health care and services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of the Illawarra region to improve their general health and wellbeing. Programs and services delivered by the AMS include:

• asthma educator
  
• ear/nose/throat services
  
• paediatrician
  
• orthodontist and dental services
  
• maternal Aboriginal Health Worker and midwife
• early childhood nurse
• sexual health worker
• allied health services
• alcohol and other drug workers
• counsellor crisis support workers
• family support workers.

The Illawarra AMS is funded through the Department of Health and Ageing and the NSW Department of Health.
